親愛的康谷華協會員們,

中秋佳節將至,康谷華協誠摯邀請您和您的家人參加我們於9月14日舉辦的中秋遊園會,共慶團圓佳節!

As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, we warmly invite you and your family to join us in celebrating this special occasion at our Mid-Autumn Festival Carnival on September 14th!


Event Details:

The event will feature a variety of exciting activities, including a delicious catered dinner, fun games, cultural performances, and a raffle. We will also have a mooncake and cookie sale, with all proceeds supporting our community and association activities. We encourage everyone to attend and enjoy this festive evening with us!


Event Highlights:
Catered Dinner: Enjoy a sumptuous dinner by purchasing a meal ticket. Tickets are $10 per person and will be available for pre-sale starting August 24th. We recommend purchasing your tickets in advance.
Games & Activities: Participate in a range of fun games suitable for both adults and children. Bring the whole family!
Cultural Performances: Experience a wonderful Mid-Autumn performance by local cultural groups and CCCA members.
Raffle: Exciting prizes await in our raffle! (Raffle tickets: 10 for $5)

康谷华协2023-2024年度学生总统义工奖申请开始!

重要通知:

康谷华协2023-2024年度(7/1/2023 – 6/30/2024)学生总统义工奖申请现在开始!

申请资格:
1)申请人家庭为康谷华协现任会员
2)申请人必须为美国公民或者美国永久居民(绿卡持有人)
2)申请人在康谷华协的认证义工时间必须超过申报义工总时间的60% (学生在其他组织参加义工的时间不得超过义工总时间的40%)

申请时间表:
1)申请截止日期 – 7/15
2)申请审核截止 – 8/1
3)总统义工奖通知 – 8/15

Important Notice:
Conejo Chinese Cultural Association (CCCA) The President’s Volunteer Service Award application for year 2023 – 2024 (7/1/2023 – 6/30/2024) starts now.

Eligibility:
1. The applicant’s family must be current CCCA member
2. The applicant must be United States citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States (i.e., green card holder)
3. Volunteer hours with CCCA must be at least 60% of the total volunteer hours (In other words, applicants’ volunteer hours with non-CCCA organizations shouldn’t be over 40% of the total hours)

Important Dates:
1. Application Deadline – 7/15
2. Application Review Completion – 8/1
3. President’s Volunteer Service Award Notification – 8/15

2022 CCCA Youth Outreach – 中期选举选民见面会





2022年美國的中期選舉塵埃尚未落定。這次選舉直接影響了聯邦,州,縣,市的各級官員、議員的換屆以及許多法規提案的通過與否。

康谷華人文化協會分別於10/23和10/30日邀請了競選我們所在文圖拉縣(Ventura County)主管職位的兩位候選人到華協文化中心與選民見面,介紹自己,提出各自的執政理念,並且回答選民所關注的問題。

一位候選人是在千橡市連續二十年先後擔任市議員和市長的Claudia Bill-de la Peña, 一位是擔任過加州眾議員和洛杉磯市負責治安和國安的副市長Jeff Gorell。一位在地方小城辛勤耕耘多年,一位則在州眾議院和大都市有立法與管理的豐富經驗。有人開玩笑說,這選舉是本地的和尚還是外來的和尚會念經的選擇。
為了讓我們的年輕一代更多地了解並且參與到美國的民主過程中,我們第一次讓社區裡的高中生來組織和主持了這兩次會議。這兩位學生花了大量時間準備和蒐集候選人背景,選區人口資料,特別是選民們關注的犯罪率,無家可歸者的人數等詳實的數據,做到了以事實說話,用理性討論。她們的表現得到了兩位候選人和所有與會者的高度讚揚。 投票日過去了三天,這兩位候選人的選情依舊非常焦灼,目前記票過了一半,差距只有400多票。選舉結果當然重要,但其實更重要的是對選舉過程本身的參與,了解與思考。希望將來更多的社區成員,特別是年輕一代能夠真正成為這一進程的一部分。
